Service Description

United Cerebral Palsy of Idaho assists people with any disability to achieve their full potential. They support all people with disabilities in their efforts to discover, obtain, and use assistive technology and other resources to advance learning, independence, and opportunities.

As part of one of the nation's largest health charities, United Cerebral Palsy affiliates are leaders in providing innovative programs and services to more than 176,000 children and adults with disabilities every day. Their volunteers are engaged ambassadors helping to fulfill their mission to advance the independence, productivity and full citizenship of people with disabilities.

As a one of the nation's leading organizations serving and advocating for the more than 54 million Americans with disabilities, United Cerebral Palsy is an accredited organization known for their service-based, individual-focused approach. Their strength as a nationwide network grows out of a long history of service and unwavering commitment for more than 55 years to advancing the full citizenship of people with disabilities.

The UCP of Idaho loaning library offers over 2,400 items for any individual with a disability to use. Teachers, therapists, family members, and others who work with people who have disabilities can also borrow items.

UCP of Idaho's Computer Lab is open to anyone with any type of disability. Visit the lab to try adapted equipment or specialized software, or visit the lab each week to work on specific skills.

UCP of Idaho provides access to assistive technology though the Loaning Library and the Computer Lab and Demonstration Center.

UCP of Idaho offers a wealth of information on all disabilities, not just cerebral palsy. They reach thousands of people through their participation in various educational and employment fairs, and in presentations to schools.
UCP of Idaho is a leader in their state on issues of importance to persons with disabilities.
UCP offers training and demonstrations on a wide variety of assistive technology devices, computer hardware/software, augmentative communication devices and training geared to specific populations, such as parents of young children and senior citizens.
Each summer, UCP hosts a three-day Wheelchair Computer Camp in Boise for a small group of young people. The camp has a theme and provides a fully accessible educational opportunity for a person in a wheelchair.
